Signify is transitioning iLight to Dynalite

iLight is part of Signify, the world leader in Lighting for professionals and consumers.

Through our global portfolio of leading brands, which includes Dynalite and Interact, we provide customers with advanced products, connected systems and services, designed to enhance well-being and performance, to elevate experiences and advance sustainability.

As we sharpen our focus and resources on delivering the most complete, reliable and innovative systems, we will soon be ending the sale of iLight hardware and software and directing customers to one of our two main lighting control architectures: Dynalite and Interact.

The Dynalite architecture serves similar applications to iLight and has similar features and benefits. Over the last 15 years, Signify has consistently invested in Dynalite innovation in close alignment with customer needs.

Dynalite is supported by a global System Expert team, an experienced Product Management team and extended training program. It supports a large variety of lighting controls protocols like e.g. DALI, DMX and leading and trailing edge dimming, as well as Zigbee luminaires. It has a sensor portfolio, dry contact inputs, an extended UI portfolio and many integration options.

Interact systems use cloud-based software, connected luminaires, and multi-sensors to manage your lighting efficiently, gather data from the system and lit environment, and deliver valuable and actionable insights.

We are currently supporting partners to move to Dynalite with bespoke training sessions and technical support. For a more detailed timeline on the end of sale and ongoing support commitments for iLight, see the official End of Life announcement here.

FAQs

Q: How can I decide whether Interact or Dynalite is the best architecture for my project(s)?

A: Your local Signify contact can inform you about both architectures and help you to make the best decision for your business. Dynalite is most similar to iLight, so in most cases, Dynalite will be the most suitable option for current iLight partners.

Q: Why is Signify phasing out iLight?

A: Although iLight is very popular in some countries, Dynalite has a much wider scope. By combining the two system architectures, Signify can focus its innovation resources and offer the most complete, reliable and innovative system.

Q: Which additional features and products do I have at my disposal when I switch from iLight to Dynalite?

A: For official iLight partners we offer online meetings where we present an exhaustive list, including Q&A. Your Signify contact can organize this for you. Some examples of options Dynalite has beyond iLight:

  • The possibility to use wireless luminaires, in addition to wired
  • Optional cloud service to store and access project files
  • Remote maintenance
  • Dashboard for Guest Room control projects
  • The option to define bespoke device behavior by writing a few lines of code (‘tasking’)
  • More integration options for third party devices and systems

Q: How can I ask technical questions and ask for technical support after September 1st?

A: Until December 23, 2030, by creating a ticket using the “Request Support” button in MyLighting. Support for software is available until December 23, 2028.

Q: Where can I report hardware failures and claim hardware warranty?

A: As usual, at Customer Service in your Signify country organization.

Q: How can I get a good understanding of the similarities and differences between iLight and Dynalite.

A: Your local Signify contact can plan an online session where an expert on both Dynalite and iLight will explain the similarities and differences and how you can transition from being an iLight integrator to being a Dynalite integrator.

Q: Is it possible to extend already installed projects with iLight products after the End of Sale date?

A: No, after the End of Sale date it is no longer possible to extend iLight projects.

Q: I am a certified iLight partner and I want to continue my activities with Dynalite or Interact, how can I get access to information and training?

A: Contact your local Signify Account Manager. Signify will provide Dynalite or Interact training for your team, free of charge.

Q: I am preparing a large project with iLight and now I must transition it to Dynalite, while I am not familiar with Dynalite. How can Signify help me to complete the project?

A: A Signify Dynalite expert can support the transition of your project, free of charge.
