iLight appoints new director to head entry into commercial lighting controls
Mike Shaw has joined iLight as special projects director with responsibility for heading the company’s entry into the commercial lighting controls market.
He joins the Polaron subsidiary from Apex Lighting Controls, where he was commercial director and founder. His 20 years’ experience in the lighting controls industry also includes time at ECS Philips Lighting Controls.
“I am looking forward to helping iLight to become a major player in the commercial lighting controls market, both within the UK and internationally,” said Shaw.
“A major advantage iLight brings to this market is its depth of experience in the architectural lighting controls sector,” added Polaron chief executive Joe Stelzer. “iLight also benefits from the complementary skills of its sister company DMS Controls, which has a proven track record on large projects.”
This breadth of experience means that iLight can offer seamless integration between commercial controls for general office areas and architectural lighting controls in boardrooms, meeting rooms and conference facilities etc.
Demand for commercial lighting controls is being stimulated by Part L of the UK Building Regulations, which requires energy efficient lighting and controls to be installed in commercial and other buildings. Benefits include flexibility, energy savings and reduced maintenance.
