iLight is now a RIBA CPD provider

iLight has just had its first CPD (Continuing Professional Development) seminar approved. The seminar
"Lighting Control - Why" is designed to show how lighting control and different light sources can be used to enhance the designed space. This is the first of three CPDs and provides an introductory course on the following:
  • To get an understanding of how lighting control can be used to enhance the designed space.
  • This is in terms of getting more out of what the architect has designed with the use of different "scenes" or moods for different user programmed scenarios.
  • The architect / specifier will also learn about the energy saving characteristics of such systems.
  • A grounding in the different types of light sources available.
Two other courses will follow that are more technical in their nature. The next will be entitled Lighting Management & Office Lighting Control and will cover the following:
  • How lighting control can be used for controlling office lighting.
  • To learn about the energy saving characteristics of such systems.
  • To learn about the different dimming techniques.
  • An understanding of how sensors can be used to effect change within the building's environment.

The third course will be about how to integrate lighting control with, heating, audio visual and entertainment systems.
